Camps and Holidays

Updated 14/4/10

 KWAC Camp

98 Guides, Guiders and senior Section are looking forward to 5 days of fun at Kent West's Centenary Camp at Blacklands.

 Trip to EuroDisney 2011

We are planning a trip to EuroDisney in January 2011.  For more details download the letter.

 Hoo Brownies' Sleepover

This term the Brownies had sleepover at a Wide Horizons Educational Centre at Wrotham The girls stayed up late, watched a film & ate hotdogs & popcorn.

The next day the Brownies got very adventurous and took part in team building activities which included a low ropes course, tyre course and assault course. They did brilliantly and got to know each other very well whilst also earning points towards their Adventure 100 challenge.

 KIJ09

Hoo Guides tried out their new camping equipment by attending KIJ09, an International Scout Camp hosted by Kent Scouts.  The 7 day camp welcomed over 2500 Scouts and Guides from all over Britain and the world.

During their week at the camp the girls took part in all sorts of exciting activities including climbing, abseiling, scuba diving, sailing, power boating, high ropes, go-karting and giant inflatable games to name but a few. There was a massive opening and closing ceremony, with discos and entertainment every night and plenty of opportunity to make new friends. It was a really great week camp.

Cliffe Woods Guides

The Guides camped at Seaford, where one of their Guiders, Michelle Howe did her camp licence.  October also saw them holding an indoor holiday at Paxwood, where Michelle also did her Holiday Licence.  Well done.

Team Building

Guiders and Unit Helpers from Strood Town District recently spent an enjoyable weekend at Foxlease in the New Forest, enjoying a variety of crafts and activities - even belly dancing.  Everyone came back having made new friends or got to know the 'old' ones even better!

Guiders' Camp Licence

Congratulations to Catherine Laws (Frindsbury & Wainscott District) who has recently successfully completed her Camp Licence.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Michele Pink of 4th Strood Brownies, on her successful Brownie Holiday at Paxwood House.  The Brownies enjoyed a weekend under the sea after they were shipwrecked over night.
