Girlguiding Strood Division

Welcome

Strood welcomes several new District Commissioners to the Division.  Sarah Roots has taken over Strood Town District.  Jill Hydes and Jean David are sharing the role of District Commissioner for Frindsbury and Wainscott and finally Sue Martin and Liz Donald have agreed to the joint running of Cuxton District.  We look forward to working with them in the future.

Thanks and Farewell 

February saw us saying Thank You to our retiring Division Commissioner, Gillian Watts, who had been in post for over 6 years.  She worked tirelessly for the Division, for which we are extremely grateful. 

As a mark of our appreciation, afternoon tea was given in her honour, with a variety of guests from around the County, giving their best wishes to her. 

Gillian has now taken on the role as Division Treasurer, so her retirement is very short lived!  Christine Constable has taken on the role and we all look forward to working with her to take the Division on over the next few years.

 Guides Visited EuroDisney

21st - 23rd January 2011

A group of 67 Guides, Young Leaders and Guiders travelled by coach to Euro Disney, for an exhausting but thoroughly enjoyable weekend.  The weather was fairly kind to us and the odd shower didn't dampen our spirits. 

Before spending the day in the 'park' we had breakfast with the Disney characters. In the evening we ate in Planet Hollywood before returning to our hotel. 

On Sunday we spent our time in the Walt Disney Studios, before returning home, exhausted but happy.

International Visit - 2010

Congratulations to Zoe from Strood Town District who has been selected to join the Region trip to the 'God's Golden Acre' project in South Africa.
